Brad Van Pelt was found dead at home in Owosso, Michicagan. The 57 years old retired player suffered from an apparent heart attack on Tuesday. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2001. Van Pelt was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and a former second-round draft pick out of Michigan. Van Pelt played for the Giants from 1973 to 1983. Carl Banks drafting ended Van Pelt's career with the Giants which he followed with three more years in the league.

"He will be fondly remembered and he will be missed," former Giants defensive lineman George Martin said. "His impact on our lives was greater as a person than it was as a ballplayer."
